Diodes Incorporated Automotive Qualified Linear Regulators Offer High PSRR and Low Quiescent Current

Diodes Incorporated (Nasdaq: DIOD) has introduced the first AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified low dropout (LDO) linear regulator. The AP7315Q and AP7343Q provide 150mA and 300mA, respectively, and are suitable for any automotive application that requires precise regulation over a wide range of operating conditions, such as point-of-load power supplies for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), RF communications, infotainment systems, and cameras.

  

Automakers are integrating higher and higher levels of ADAS into vehicles, including various sensors and sensing circuits that require an extremely stable power supply. Both the AP7315Q and AP7343Q linear regulators feature full Production Part Approval Program (PPAP) capability and can be used in automotive applications that require products to meet AEC-Q100 and Grade 1 (-40°C to +125°C) temperature ratings.

Automotive applications are demanding, and the AP7315Q and AP7343Q provide a practical alternative to switching regulators. In addition to current limit and short-circuit protection, both linear regulators feature an enable input that shuts down the linear regulator when it is not needed. They provide a low quiescent current of only 35µA when in use. Both linear regulators are available with (AP7315DQ/43DQ) or without (AP7315Q/43Q) an output capacitor discharge function, which is usually required to protect sensitive loads such as CMOS image sensors during shutdown test components.

Both regulators are available in SOT25 packages.
